Drier but colder week ahead After yet another soggy Sunday, drier weather is back in the forecast this week, but not without chilly December air. Temperatures starts seasonably mild on Monday, with a stiff breeze for the afternoon and a slim chance for a spot shower.Conditions look pretty good for holiday decorating outdoors midweek with less wind in the forecast, but you’ll probably need the jacket, hats, and gloves.

Hockey teams thrilled to get things rolling at the Garrett Reagan Summit MARLBORO – Between the dates of when teams can first start practicing, and when regular season games begin, there’s a feeling in large parts of the state’s hockey community that each new season really starts at the MSHCA Garrett Reagan Summit.Its 15th annual edition came on Sunday, with 70 boys and girls hockey teams lacing up in 35 total scrimmages across seven rinks at New England Sports Center, a major tune-up for a wide range of teams getting set for regular season action as early as Thursday.Hockey is back.“For us, definitely, that’s the way we look at it,” said Hingham boys head coach Tony Messina. “It’s named after Garrett Reagan, our former coach, so it’s something we always will do as long as we have it. Bullets scatter after wild chase in Rhode Island EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Law enforcement officials brought more than 100 counts against a Florida motorist accused of firing shots at a residence before leading officers on a wild pursuit in which two cruisers crashed into a house and several other vehicles were damaged, officials said.The motorist remained in jail on Sunday, two days after the chase ended with his SUV crashing and spilling bullets and cartridges on a roadway in East Providence, police said.“This was an extremely volatile situation involving a dangerous and unpredictable suspect who put so many of our residents and police officers in harms way,” Police Chief Christopher Francesconi said.The episode unfolded Friday with reports of shots fired from a vehicle with Florida license plates. 4 men wanted for aggravated assault in Brampton Peel police’s Criminal Investigation Bureau is asking for public’s assistance to locate four men who are wanted for an aggravated assault that took place in Brampton. On Sept. 8, at approximately 1:20 a.m., a victim was present in the area of Mclaughlin Road and Ray Lawson Boulevard in Brampton. Allegedly multiple parties assaulted the victim and fled the area before police arrived. The victim suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital.After further investigation police have four suspected who are all currently wanted. Aftaab Gill, a 22-year-old man of no fixed address, Harmandeep Singh, a 22-year-old man from Brampton, Jatinder Singh, a 25-year-old man from Brampton, and Satnam Singh, a 30-year-old man from Brampton, are all currently wanted for aggravated assault.Police are asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of the four men to contact investigators.

Chain crew member dislocated his knee during Lions-Saints game NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A member of the chain crew at a game between Detroit and New Orleans was taken to a hospital with a dislocated knee that occurred when Saints running back Alvin Kamara was tackled into him.Saints spokesman Doug Miller said Nick Piazza was in stable condition at University Hospital.The game was delayed in the first half so physicians from both teams could treat Piazza as he lay on the turf along the Detroit sideline.Piazza’s legs were taken out from under him after Lions linebacker Derrick Barnes pushed Kamara hard over the sideline, causing the running back to lose his footing at the New Orleans 18-yard line.
